Welcome to DTX Dental Studio

Starting with a new dentist can feel like a big step, especially if it has been a while since your last visit or if you have had less than great experiences in the past. We get it. And we want you to know that things are different here.
From your very first phone call to the moment you leave your first appointment, our goal is simple: make you feel comfortable, informed, and genuinely cared for. No judgment. No pressure. Just a team that is happy you chose us.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

We know that not knowing what to expect is half the reason people put off going to the dentist. So here is exactly what happens when you come in for the first time at DTX Dental Studio.

We Start With a Conversation

Before anything else, we want to hear from you. What brings you in? Any concerns? Anything you have been putting off? Dr. Carson and our team take time at the start of every new patient visit to listen and understand where you are coming from. Your history, your comfort level, and your goals all matter to us before we ever pick up a tool.

We Do a Thorough Examination

Dr. Carson will perform a comprehensive exam that gives us a full picture of your oral health. This includes a review of your teeth, gums, bite, and any areas of concern. We use modern diagnostic tools to make sure nothing gets missed.

We Walk You Through What We Find

Once the exam is complete, Dr. Carson will sit down with you and explain everything in plain, straightforward language. If there is something that needs attention, he will tell you what it is, why it matters, and what your options are. If everything looks good, he will tell you that too.

You Leave With a Clear Plan

You will never leave your first appointment confused about where things stand. Whether you need follow-up treatment or just a regular cleaning schedule going forward, you will walk out with a clear picture of your oral health and a plan that makes sense for you.

Before Your First Appointment

To make your first visit as smooth as possible, here are a few things to have ready when you arrive or when you call to book.

Your insurance information, if applicable. We accept most PPO plans and will verify your benefits before your appointment so there are no surprises.

A list of any current medications or health conditions. These can affect your dental care and help us treat you more safely and effectively.

Any dental records or X-rays from a previous dentist, if you have them. Not required, but helpful.

Any questions or concerns you want to bring up. There are no silly questions here. If something has been on your mind, we want to hear it.

We Accept Most PPO Insurance Plans

Navigating dental insurance is rarely fun, but our team is here to help. We work with most PPO insurance providers and will handle the verification process on your behalf so you know exactly what your plan covers before treatment begins.
Have questions about whether we accept your specific plan? Just give us a call at (214) 340-2111 and we will look into it for you right away.

No Insurance? We Have You Covered.

Not having dental insurance should not mean going without care. That is why DTX Dental Studio offers an in-house membership plan designed to give patients across Dallas access to quality preventive dental care at a straightforward, affordable cost.
No waiting periods. No annual maximums. No confusing fine print. Just a simple plan that keeps you and your family covered for the care that matters most.
Ask our team about the details when you call or come in for your first visit.

Nervous About the Dentist? You Are Not Alone.

Dental anxiety is more common than most people admit, and it is one of the main reasons people delay care until a small problem becomes a bigger one. If that sounds familiar, we want you to know you are in the right place.
Dr. Carson and our team have worked with plenty of patients who walked in nervous and left relieved. We never rush, we always explain what we are doing before we do it, and we genuinely welcome you to speak up at any point if you need a break or have a concern. Your comfort is not an afterthought here. It is part of how we practice.

Frequently Asked Questions From New Patients

How long will my first appointment take?
Plan for about 60 to 90 minutes for a new patient visit. This gives us enough time to do a thorough exam, take any necessary X-rays, and have a real conversation about your oral health without feeling rushed.
Bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, and any relevant medical or dental history you have available. If you completed your new patient forms online ahead of time, that is one less thing to worry about when you arrive.
You would not be the first, and you will not be judged for it. We see patients all the time who are coming back to dental care after a long gap. Our job is to meet you where you are and help you move forward, not make you feel bad about the past.
Yes. We welcome patients of all ages at DTX Dental Studio, making it easy for families across Lake Highlands, Lochwood, and Hamilton Park to bring everyone under one roof.
If we find something that needs treatment, we will explain it clearly and give you options. Nothing will be done without your understanding and consent. Some treatments may be scheduled for a follow-up visit depending on what is needed.
